The Driver and Printer Utility is enclosed in the CD disk\Utilities directory or users can download them here.
Setup WiFi / Network IP
NOTE: The printer needs to be connected via USB to perform these steps.
NOTE: After downloading, it may be necessary to “Unblock” the Printer Utility so it can be run.
- To do so, right-click on the downloaded file and select Properties, then check the Unblock box and click OK.
1. Connect the printer to your computer using the provided USB cable.
2. Run the Printer Utility program.
3. Ensure USB is selected under Port Settings:
4. Click the Load Print Info button, printer information will be displayed:
5. For WiFi setup, continue to step 6. For Network (wired) setup, continue to step 7.
6. WiFi Setup:
a. On the right pane, expand WiFi Setup and click the Load button. The default WiFi settings will be loaded:
b. Enter your WiFi authentication settings.
Please note the following settings:
- Port Number should be 9100
- We strongly recommend using a Static IP
c. Click the Set button to save settings – the printer will restart.
7. Network Setup:
a. On the right pane, expand Ethernet Setup and click the Load button. The default Ethernet settings will be loaded:
b. Enter your network settings.

c. Click the Set button to save settings – the printer will restart.
8. The Printer Driver can now be installed.
Install Printer
NOTE: The printer should be disconnected from USB if you intend to install this as a network printer.
NOTE: After downloading, it may be necessary to "Unblock" the Printer Driver so it can be run.
- To do so, right-click on the downloaded file and select Properties, then check the Unblock box and click OK.
1. Run the Printer Driver installer.
a. Select the Acceptance of license.
b. Click Next.
2. Select an installation directory and click Next.
3. Leave default options selected and click Finish.
4. Print drivers will be extracted, and the printer setup wizard will automatically start. Ensure Install Printer Drivers is selected, and click Next.
5. A printer selection screen will be displayed. If you are installing this printer as a USB printer, continue to step 6. Otherwise, go to Step 7.
6. Click Next to continue with USB Printer Installation.
a. Give the printer a name, select whether it should be the default printer, then click Next.
NOTE: Please consult your system admin if you need this to be a shared network printer from the PC it is being installed on.
b. Click Finish, The Printer will be installed.
7. To continue with Network Printer Installation:
a. Click Back.
b. You will now be able to select a different installation type. Select Network (Ethernet or WiFi), and click Next.
c. From the list of printers, select Gainscha GS-2406T or GA-2408T (depending on which model you have) and click Next.
d. Select Create Port.
e. Select Standard TCP/IP and click New Port.
f. Click Next on the wizard start screen.
g. Enter the Printer IP Address (determined during printer network configuration) and give the printer a descriptive name, then click Next.
NOTE: The IP in the screen shot below is for reference only, your actual IP may be different!
h. The system will attempt to detect the printer on the network.
i. The system will prompt you for additional information. Select Custom, then click Settings.
j. Ensure the Protocol is set to RAW, and the Port Number matches the port number set up in the printer network configuration (usually 9100), then click OK.
k. Click Next. A summery screen will be displayed.
l. Click Finish.
m. Click Close on the New Port dialog.
n. Ensure your new port is selected on the resulting dialog, and click Next.
o. Give the printer a name, select whether it should be the default printer, then click Next.
NOTE: Please consult your system admin if you need this to be a shared network printer from the PC it is being installed on.
p. Click Finish. The printer will be installed.
